Annual Farmers Guild-Raising: Workshops & Demos for Family Farms, Food Advocates
03/10/18, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm | Davis, CA
On Saturday, March 10, farmers and local food advocates from across California will converge on Davis to share skills, explore hot topics in sustainable agriculture and forge a united voice on behalf of family farms.
For its fifth year, the annual Farmers Guild-Raising is heading to UC Davis. Put on by Community Alliance with Family Farmers and The Farmers Guild — and this year in partnership with the Agricultural Sustainability Institute and the UCD Student Farm — this event offers workshops and demonstrations exploring subjects ranging from farm-to-school to soil health, food policy to agricultural cooperatives.
The event is open to farmers, students and activists alike.
In addition to educational and networking opportunities, this year’s event also commemorates CAFF’s 40th anniversary.

Subject: what makes a farm stand work?
This month, my buddy Arron from Tabletop Farm installed a farm stand in downtown Pt. Reyes Station and I've lately been passing by quite a few new farm stands--Worker Bee just outside Freestone, Little Wing Farm in Valley Ford, and many, many more. Does anyone have tips on how to make a farm stand successful? What's worked? What hasn't worked? And any ideas on how we can collectively promote farm stands in general without saturating the market?
